Corinne

“As booker for San Diego Folk Heritage I hear hundreds of CDs a year. (We present 30 to 40 concerts a year.) I suffer through some, enjoy others and every once in a great while that little tingle works it’s way up my spine. A real winner! The first cut on Corinne’s ‘Demo This’ CD started that tingle. By the end of the CD it was a tremor. Corinne could easily be the next Baez or Collins. I predict this young lady is going to be huge!”

Acoustic singer/songwriter Corinne is an Americana artist with an arresting voice, a masterful hand at crafting a song, and a gift for engaging performances. A rapidly emerging alternative / folk / blues / country talent, her songs are evocative, painting vivid images of open roads and everyday heroes. Rooted in mythology and storytelling, her songwriting is threaded with archetypal imagery, symbolism, and the subtle magic of familiar people. “My intention is for people to resonate with this music, to make it their own.”

Corinne grew up in Los Angeles where she first started writing and singing. Fiercely independent, she left home at 16 with guitar in hand to travel the United States. It was while on the road that she realized the significance of her relationship with music. In 1988 she began performing with her first heavy edged rock-n-roll band. She has since played with Country, Bluegrass, Folk, Celtic, Alternative-Rock, Acoustic Roots and Old-time bands. Today she lives in rural Northern California where she does most of her writing. She performs either solo, with her band The Sevens, or with a variety of talented accompanists.

Corinne is currently at work with constant performances up and down the West Coast. Just last year she played a side stage at the well known (10,000 attendance), High Sierra Music Festival, and was invited back this year to play on the main stage. She also played the main stage at the San Diego Folk Heritage Festival this spring, (now the Sam Hinton Folk Heritage Festival), and she is headlining the Woodstock On The Comstock series in Virginia City, Nevada.

Corinne is getting airplay on KUSP Santa Cruz, KHWG Plumas County, KVMR Grass Valley, KFPR Redding and KCHO Chico. She has been invited to perform on KVMR’S Saturday “Rockin’ and Stompin” show, and has been invited back to KPIG’s worldwide live broadcast of their “Please Stand By” show out of Freedom California. Her radio play continues to expand as she introduces her music to new stations.

Corinne is forging a potent music which fuses the distinct voice of an original singer/songwriter with the driving steam of an American Roots train. Combining a rockin’ pace with melodic sensibility, Corinne delivers a soulful body of foot tappin’ music that strikes the listener at the core.
